THE ART OF AUTHENTIC STORYTELLING
Book Brad Carr for Your Virtual or Live Event
Learning to See Again
We exist in desperate times. The tragic events in recent years have left humanity with a collective longing for connection. It is no wonder, given the intense feelings of disconnection that many people experienced in some way, shape, or form throughout the pandemic and enforced lockdowns that left many people isolated and cut off from their true nature; the human nature that is to exist within a close community, to touch, talk to, and see other people daily.
As the memories of isolation, division, and disconnection begin to fade from our conscious minds, I can’t help but become curious about what the long-term effects of these painful chapters on the human psyche and collective consciousness might be. My analytical mind has been busy joining some of the dots, trying to make sense of these events, as well as finding solutions for us to move forward with hope for the future; solutions that begin with our own reconnection to the great spirit of Mother Nature.
I use the medium of storytelling to share a vision for the future of humanity with your camera club, society, charity, organisation, or educational facility. My message is authentic, inspirational, and educational. My talks will stimulate your mind, body, and spirit as we journey towards a more conscious and connected way of existing on planet earth.

In ‘Finding Light: A Journey into Nature to Find My Soul’, photographic artist and Nature writer, Brad Carr, shares his authentic story of transformation through the lens of his camera and interactions with the natural world. The presentation weaves together image and written word as a deeply personal response to Brad’s experiences of both external and internal landscapes. Through his evocative and ethereal photographs and heartfelt writings, he invites the audience into his story — one of healing, transformation and discovery — offering insight into the restorative power of being in Nature. Described by the artist as ‘self-portraits,’ the photographs represent his emotional state at the time of their creation. They provide a simultaneous view of both the inner and outer world, moving between expansive vistas of wild landscapes and intimate studies of ancient trees and mystical woodland scenes. Both his photographs and writings tell the story of human experience, capturing moments of reflection, solace, and connection with spirit.

In this powerful and deeply personal presentation, internationally published landscape & Nature photographer and writer Brad Carr reveals how photography and creative writing became his "weapons of choice" in the battle against inner darkness and the destructive patterns he witnessed in his father-figures throughout his younger years. Moving far beyond technical mastery and compositional rules, Brad shares his revolutionary approach to Nature photography as a spiritual practice—one that integrates the feminine art of "being" (intuitive connection with the natural world) with the masculine discipline of "thought" (deep reflection and meaning-making through creative writing & journaling).
Through compelling personal stories, Brad demonstrates how this "dance between thought and being" has transformed not only his artistic work but his entire relationship with himself and the world around him, resulting in him delivering transformative workshops and mentoring programs for fellow creatives. Attendees will discover why so many photographers feel unfulfilled despite technical competence, learn practical techniques for accessing deeper creative states in Nature, and understand how to use creative practice as a pathway to self-discovery, healing, and purpose. This isn't just about taking better photographs—it's about unlocking creativity as a force for personal transformation, reclaiming self-sovereignty, and finding your authentic voice as an artist and human being. Perfect for photographers, creative-thinkers, and anyone seeking a more meaningful relationship with their artistic practice, themselves, and the world around them.

Jason, Rhyl Camera Club ★★★★★
‘‘I have been with Rhyl Photographic Society for 15 years and have seen many good speakers, but I have not seen such a good response from the members that Brad received.
Brad gave everything of himself, and his willingness to share all of himself was refreshing and led to our members sharing their thoughts and feelings in response. Brad answered all the questions asked, and the openness that was in the room was wonderful to see and be part of.
The evening went far too quickly, and a long and deserved ovation was given after the talk.
We would highly recommend Brad and are looking forward to inviting him back.’’
Public Talks & Presentations
For Camera Clubs, Charities, Community Groups & Photographic Societies
I am available as a speaker for camera clubs, photographic societies, events, schools & universities, charities, and intimate gatherings throughout the UK.
I talk with great passion and depth about my life and the events that have led me to this place where I am now creating photographs and telling stories to the world. I am an open book, and I wear my heart on my sleeve, so you can guarantee some level of emotional connection with your audience.
I have delivered talks online to the likes of the Royal Photographic Society, photo clubs, and charities such as the Company of Makers. I have appeared on some of the leading photography podcasts in the world, such as F-Stop, Collaborate & Listen, and The Photowalk. I also speak regularly in person at camera clubs, community groups, and at charity events.
I am also open to attending schools and colleges as I have done over the years to talk about my work and to share some of the deeper philosophies around my creative practice to aid in the development of the next generation of creative minds.
Photography Workshops
For Camera Clubs and Photographic Societies
I also offer my services as a tutor, offering practical photography sessions and workshops for members of camera clubs and photographic societies.
My workshops offer an insight into my creative process, which involves plenty of thought, conversation, and an exploration of the inner landscape, as well as that of the outer one.
The camera, for me, is a tool for self-discovery and expression, more than anything, and can lead to immense personal and spiritual growth.
Workshop days do have some structure to them, but are not fixed to a rigid schedule. I like to have some fun and encourage freedom, but there are always some tasks and challenges set that attendees seem to take plenty from.
Workshop days normally last around seven - eight hours, although, depending on levels of enthusiasm and numbers of questions, they can go on for a little longer sometimes. The day begins with a discussion around my approach to photography, what to expect from the day, and what each person is hoping to gain, and then it ends with a reflection period, during which I encourage people to think about what they have taken from our time together and wish to carry forward in their own art.
