Soulful, Authentic Portrait & Personal Brand Photography Throughout Wales and the UK

Are you a healer, yoga instructor, personal trainer, artist, or holistic practitioner whose work transforms lives—yet your current photography fails to convey the depth of what you offer?

You’re not alone.

The Problem with Generic Brand Photography

In today’s saturated digital landscape, most brands, business owners, and creators face the same challenge: their photography looks like everyone else’s.

They struggle to increase their visibility across their websites and social media.

Stock photos of meditation poses. Staged headshots with forced smiles. The same unoriginal colour tones. Generic imagery that could represent anyone, anywhere.

Here’s what’s happening:

Your ideal clients scroll past hundreds of images daily. They’re searching for someone who truly understands their journey—someone whose presence, values, and approach resonate deeply with their own. They’re looking for someone they deeply connect with.

But when your photography looks indistinguishable from countless others, you become invisible. No matter how transformative your work, no matter how authentic your practice, potential clients simply can’t feel the connection.

They scroll past. And you lose the opportunity to serve the very people whose lives you’re meant to touch.

The Hidden Cost of Inauthentic Imagery:

The numbers reveal the truth

In a world where visual content dominates every platform, authenticity has become the deciding factor in business success:

81%

of consumers need to trust a brand before they’ll make a purchase

86%

say authenticity is key when deciding what brands they support

57%

of people believe less than half of brands create genuinely authentic content

19%

of consumers find stock photography authentic

In this overwhelming visual noise, authenticity isn’t just valuable; it’s essential for survival.

Yet most business owners approach brand photography backwards. They focus on what they think they should look like rather than revealing who they truly are.

The result?

Disconnection.

Photographs that fail to attract aligned and willing-to-pay clients.

Images that don’t tell the entire story of you and your business.

That’s Where I’m Different

I Don’t take Pictures. I Make Art and Tell Stories.

About Me

I’m Brad Carr, an internationally published fine art landscape photographer, writer, and storyteller from Wales.

My photographs of Wales’ ancient woodlands, serene mountain lakes, and timeless landscapes have been featured in leading photography publications, including On Landscape, Outdoor Photography, and Nature Vision. My debut exhibition, Finding Light, was viewed by an estimated 20,000 people at Plas Glyn y Weddw, one of Wales’ oldest and most prestigious galleries, in 2025.

My creative work touches people at the deepest level. It awakens emotions and connects with the souls of people in all four corners of the world.

I have spent the past 8 years telling my story—and the story of Nature—through the lens of the camera. I’m here now to help you tell yours.

What Storytelling Photography Actually Means

Storytelling photography isn’t just about poses or perfect lighting.

It’s about capturing the essence of who you are and what you stand for; creating visual narratives that communicate your values, brand presence, and your unique way of being in the world.

When a potential client views authentic storytelling photography, they shouldn’t just see what you do. They should feel what it’s like to work with you or own your product.

The Three Elements of Authentic Visual Storytelling

A Delighted Business Owner in Mid Wales

‘‘I had a photoshoot with Brad for my business website. Brad was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process. The photoshoot day was great; really creative, and I felt very comfortable. The photos that I got after the shoot were of amazing quality. I cannot recommend Brad enough. His creativity and talent with a camera are amazing.’’

How Storytelling Photography Transforms Your Business

When your visual presence authentically represents your work, everything shifts.

My Unique Approach:

Fine Art Landscapes Meet Portrait Photography

I don’t photograph people the way most conventional portrait photographers do.

My background as an internationally published, nationally-exhibited landscape photographer shapes how I see and create portraits. I craft environmental portraits—essentially creating a landscape photograph and placing you within it as an integral part of the scene.

Presence and Patience

In my landscape photography, I’ve learned that the most powerful photographs emerge when I stop trying to control the scene and instead attune to what wants to reveal itself.

I bring this same contemplative approach to portrait sessions. Rather than directing you through a series of poses, I create space for your authentic presence to emerge—the same way I witness the landscape revealing its beauty over time.

This requires patience: the willingness to wait; to observe; to recognise the precise moment when your authentic self reveals itself to my lens.

Artistry in Service of Authenticity

Technical excellence matters—the quality of light, composition, colour harmony. But these elements serve a deeper purpose: revealing the truth of who you are and what you offer to the world.

My artistic eye, honed through years of creating atmospheric, mystical landscape photographs, ensures your imagery stands out aesthetically whilst remaining grounded in authentic representation.

The Process: Creating Your Visual Story

  • A woman with red hair, wearing a patterned shawl and jewelry, leans against moss-covered rocks in a forest near a stream, with her eyes closed and one hand resting on her head.

Stage 1: Deep Listening & Alignment

Before touching a camera, we’ll have a conversation to explore your purpose, your values, and the specifics of the work you facilitate or undertake.

    This includes:

    - Understanding who you serve and what draws them to your particular approach

    - Identifying the essential qualities that make your work unique

    - Discussing environments that authentically represent your practice

    - Exploring visual references that resonate with your aesthetic sensitivity

This foundation ensures the photography we create together genuinely reflects your essence rather than following generic formulas.

  • A woman in a red jacket and floral skirt sitting on a wooden fence by a tree, looking out at a sunlit meadow and trees in the distance.

Stage 2: Location & Light Planning

Whether we’re photographing in your healing space, outdoors in Nature, or in a creative studio, environment matters profoundly.

I assess locations for light quality, atmospheric potential, and symbolic resonance with your work. If you’re a forest therapy guide, we might photograph amongst ancient trees at dawn. A pottery artist might be captured in their workshop with late afternoon light illuminating their hands at work.

This stage includes weather monitoring for outdoor sessions, timing selection for optimal natural light, and coordinating practical logistics.

  • A woman with wet hair floating in dark water with a reflective surface, seen during sunset or sunrise.

    Stage 3: The Photography Session

Sessions typically span several hours, allowing time for authentic presence and beauty to emerge. My approach combines a landscape photographer’s patience with portrait work's intimacy.

I create conditions and a safe space for revelation rather than manufacturing moments. Sometimes this means extended periods of simply being in the environment together. Other times, it involves you engaging naturally with your practice: teaching a movement sequence, creating art, or working with a client.

The camera is there to witness you as yourself in your authentic energy. It doesn’t direct.

  • Black and white image of a boxer in fighting stance, wearing boxing gloves and no shirt, with intense expression.

    Stage 4: Curation & Refinement

After our session, I carefully edit your images to enhance their atmospheric quality whilst preserving authentic representation.

This includes colour grading that supports your brand aesthetic; it’s careful retouching that maintains natural authenticity, and thoughtful image selection that tells your complete story.

You will receive a curated gallery of high-resolution digital files suitable for website, social media, print materials, and any other applications your business requires to reach its ideal client.

    Holistic & Alternative Therapists

Your healing work requires deep trust. Clients need to feel your capacity to hold space, witness without judgement, and to facilitate genuine transformation.

  • A muscular man lifting weights while looking into a mirror at the gym.

    Yoga Instructors & PT's

    Spiritual Practitioners & Coaches

You facilitate profound shifts in consciousness and being. Your work can’t be reduced to simple before-and-after testimonials or bullet-pointed benefits.

Imagery that conveys the subtlety, depth, and transformative power of your approach attracts clients ready for genuine spiritual work rather than quick fixes.
