2026 Schedule:

Talking to Trees | Multiday Artistic Development Workshop in South Wales

Date: 2nd - 4th October

Group Size: 4 participants

Investment: £425

Join me, Brad Carr, for a transformative and unforgettable woodland photography workshop experience in the heart of the Black Mountains, near Brecon Beacons in South Wales.

We will be spending three days intensively focusing on the art of woodland photography in one area of ancient, broadleaf woodland. I will guide you through the entire creative process from the initial discovery of a woodland through to the finish: a collection of portfolio-worthy photographs with a story, a meaning, and a piece of your soul contained within them.

Much of the weekend will be spent deep in thought and reflection, as I’ll be asking many questions of you to help you develop as a photographer and artist. As much of this journey is spent in this reflective and introspective state of mind. I believe, therefore, it is of the utmost importance that we utilise the power of thought if we wish to grow as artists and people in general.

In this four-night, five-day landscape & Nature photography creative retreat in Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, you will learn how to use the art of landscape photography as a means to deepen your connection to Nature, yourself, and others as a result.

You will be practicing photography in many of the national parks’ most spectacular woodland locations and wild landscapes, walking the lesser-trodden footpaths to discover some of the most sacred environments that Wales has to offer.

This is not your usual kind of photography workshop, as you will spend time inquiring and in deeper thought about the photographs you create through journaling practices and reflective conversation, whilst immersed in the landscape and at our place of residence in the evenings.
