“Brad’s style of teaching is that of a coach that wants to help you get the best out of your own vision and art. This is not about telling you what to do, it is about asking you to think about why you are taking that particular picture and how you might improve it. This is for those who really want to take their photography to a new level of meaning and thinking. I made me realise that the most important part of the experience is to be out in nature and to try and use my photography to share the benefits of how this makes me feel.’’

About Me, Brad Carr

I'm Brad Carr, an internationally published fine art landscape photographer, writer, and creative mentor based in Wales.

My photographs of Wales's ancient woodlands, serene mountain lakes, and timeless landscapes have been featured in leading photography publications, including On Landscape, Outdoor Photography, and Nature Vision. My debut exhibition, Finding Light, was viewed by an estimated 20,000 people at Plas Glyn y Weddw, one of Wales's oldest and most prestigious galleries, in 2025.

My photography journey began in 2018 during a period of personal reflection and initiatory transition into mature masculinity following a heartbreak that awakened me to my grief. What started as a simple afternoon walk to Pistyll Rhaeadr with a camera became a transformative experience that completely transformed my outlook on life, leading to deep healing, personal growth, and the unearthing of a profound purpose. This lived experience and my resulting embodied understanding of the art of photography's power to heal and invoke spiritual transformation shape every aspect of my approach to tuition.

Through all my learning experiences, I strive to meet you wherever you are currently at — listening intently to your needs from the moment we meet during a discovery call or communicate via email to the moment we part ways and you fly in your own direction. I will find ways to help you in whatever way I can on your photographic journey, and I always maintain a warm, patient, down-to-earth approach to tuition, tailoring each session or package to your pace, goals, and unique vision.

My one-to-one tuition isn’t just about technical skill; it’s about discovering how you see the world, helping you to express your unique self through the lens of your camera, and walking alongside you as you excavate your inner landscape to unearth the creative voice that might be buried beneath years of projections and societal conditioning.

I walk with people of all levels and abilities. You can find out more about my two learning options below.

Lucy R. ★★★★★

‘‘Brad is as wonderful of a teacher as he is a photographer. I have had both a 1-1 lesson as well as a workshop with Brad where I experienced consistent attention, personalised feedback and a friendly atmosphere. Brad's philosophy and dedication to photography is admirable, and I couldn't recommend him enough if you're thinking of developing your landscape photography.’’

‘‘Photography holds such great power as a form of art and creative practice. It can be transformational for the human spirit; the camera, a tool for personal and spiritual development that can lead a person towards a place of deep healing and greater self-awareness.

This art, for me, has been as much an alternative form of therapy as anything else. I walk now, a much changed version of myself in comparison to the version of me that existed before I reconnected with my soul through the art of Nature photography.’’

How My Revolutionary Landscape Photography Tuition Could Help You:

Break Through Creative Barriers

Whether you're frustrated with camera settings that seem to work against you, compositions that feel flat and uninspiring, or you have a nagging sense that your photographs hold a deeper story that you cannot yet tell, my guidance will help you identify and overcome the specific obstacles holding back your full creative expression.

Many photographers find themselves technically competent but emotionally disconnected from their work. My bespoke photography tuition bridges that gap.

In a world saturated with photographs, discovering what makes your perspective distinctive is both challenging and essential.

Through my patient coaching approach, you'll learn to recognise the subjects, lighting conditions, and compositions that genuinely resonate with you rather than simply copying popular styles.

This process of authentic self-discovery often reveals artistic directions you never considered, leading to work that feels genuinely personal and meaningful.

Develop Your Unique Voice

Build Confidence in the Field

Many photographers struggle with decision-making in the moment — which settings to use, where to position themselves, and when to press the shutter.

My field-based teaching will develop your intuitive understanding of light, weather, and landscapes, transforming uncertainty into confident, creative choices.

You'll learn to understand locations intuitively, anticipate photographic opportunities, and adapt to changing conditions with conviction, assurance, and assertiveness.

Creating Deeper Connection

Perhaps most importantly, this tuition helps forge a profound connection between you, your camera, the natural world, and, in turn, your deeper self.

My approach encourages mindful observation and emotional engagement with landscapes, moving beyond mere documentation of a time or place toward genuine artistic self-expression.

Students often discover that photography becomes a form of meditation, a way of processing experiences and releasing trapped emotions, and a tool for finding deeper meaning and purpose in everyday moments.

Long-term Creative Development

Unlike standard workshop experiences that provide temporary inspiration, my comprehensive, non-traditional approach to creativity builds lasting skills and transforms perspectives, opening permanent neural pathways for deeper thoughts around photography.

The combination of technical knowledge, personal and artistic development, and ongoing support creates a foundation for continued growth long after your formal tuition ends.

Many students find their entire relationship with creativity and Nature fundamentally transformed — one international client even stated that she was having an awakening following her time in Snowdonia with me!
