‘‘Brad’s style of teaching is that of a coach that wants to help you get the best out of your own vision and art. This is not about telling you what to do, it is about asking you to think about why you are taking that particular picture and how you might improve it.’’

‘‘Photography holds such great power as a form of art and creative practice. It can be transformational for the human spirit; the camera, a tool for personal and spiritual development that can lead a person towards a place of deep healing and greater self-awareness.

This art, for me, has been as much an alternative form of therapy as anything else. I walk now, a much changed version of myself in comparison to the version of me that existed before I reconnected with my soul through the art of Nature photography.’’

What an amazing workshop. I’ve visited the area on numerous occasions, but never have I taken in all of its beauty.
Brad’s style of tuition is that of a teacher, if required, but more importantly as a coach making you think; ‘Why am I taking this photo?’ ‘How can I improve it?’
I came away from the day knowing more about my camera but the biggest takeaway was the realisation that photography really does make you stop, look and consider your surroundings.
Thanks to Brad, I’m itching to get back out in the great outdoors with my camera and look out for more photographic opportunities.

What a fantastic morning we had! When I first heard the workshop was an hour away from home starting at 5.30am I was a bit unsure but, by god was it worth it. Brad sure knows his stuff and you can tell how enthusiastic he is about photography and trees. The whole morning was laid back, none of this talking at you and expecting you to remember things. Brad was very patient, took time with each of us individually and has a knack of explaining things in simple terms that we can all understand. All in all a fantastic morning. Thank you Brad.

Brad’s style of teaching is that of a coach that wants to help you get the best out of your own vision and art. This is not about telling you what to do, it is about asking you to think about why you are taking that particular picture and how you might improve it. This is for those who really want to take their photography to a new level of meaning and thinking. I made me realise that the most important part of the experience is to be out in nature and to try and use my photography to share the benefits of how this makes me feel.

I recently had the opportunity to spend a day with Brad for a one-to-one day at Lake Vyrnwy, and it was an incredibly productive experience. Brad had done his homework and put a lot of effort into creating a custom plan that perfectly matched my shooting style and workflow.

What impressed me most was his decision to leave his own camera behind, which allowed him to focus entirely on my work. This is something I hadn’t seen before, and it made a significant difference. He constantly encouraged me to think about what I was doing, how and why, pushing me to explore different perspectives and techniques.

The day was well-structured yet flexible, and I appreciated the emphasis on practical learning. It was a valuable session that has left a lasting impact on my photography.

A great day with Brad at Rhiwagor falls. Brad challenges you both as an individual and as a group making you reflect on your photographic style and approach as well as offering technical tips on technique and composure. Importantly, you get plenty of time to slow down and really consider what you are trying to get out of each photograph. Brad is not just about the photography but uses this as a medium to think wider and consider your own journey and philosophy. Beautiful scenery, something new around each corner. Highly recommended.

Brad was very open from the get-go. We discussed not just the technical and professional side of photography but everything in between. Brad asked just as many questions as he answered so it really felt like being out with a friend as much as a tutor. He was non-judgmental and encouraged me to embrace my style. On the technical side, we focused on finding the correct shutter speed and aperture, using angular perspective and zoom to bring attention to a certain subject and dealing with difficult lighting. I found all of this extremely useful and can immediately see a huge improvement in my own photographs.

A Little Bit About Me & My Story

The camera found me back in 2018 when I was feeling a little bit lost in life. A relationship breakdown forced me into a state of deep introspection, and I began to analyse my life, realising that I wasn’t all that happy and fulfilled.

The journey to my creative self began when I started taking photographs and videos of myself training in the gym. I got bored pretty quickly and turned the camera outwards one day when I went on a walk to Pistyll Rhaeadr. Most of the photographs were black, white, or blurry, and so began my questioning process.

That night, I took to the Internet rabbit holes to ask the question, ‘How do you take photographs?’ Along came a giant rabbit and pulled me right under. I haven’t escaped since.

Each walk outdoors into the wilderness stoked the fire inside of me, and I couldn’t stop creating photographs. Being of an analytical mind, I would pick apart each one and work out how to make improvements. I also began picking myself apart along the way, and the camera became as much a tool to learn about myself as it was a tool to learn about nature and photography.

The camera has completely transformed my whole sense of being and my outlook on life. I have met some truly wonderful people along my way so far, and the person that I am is unrecognisable from the person I was back when this journey began. I now exist to help others find new purpose and meaning through creativity, which is why I am proud to be able to call myself much more than a photography tutor.

How Brad’s Landscape Photography Tuition Could Help You:

Break Through Creative Barriers

Whether you're frustrated with camera settings that seem to work against you, compositions that feel flat and uninspiring, or you have a nagging sense that your photographs hold a deeper story that you cannot yet tell, Brad's guidance will help you identify and overcome the specific obstacles holding back your full creative expression.

Many photographers find themselves technically competent but emotionally disconnected from their work. Brad’s bespoke photography tuition bridges that gap.

Develop Your Unique Voice

In a world saturated with photographs, discovering what makes your perspective distinctive is both challenging and essential.

Through Brad's patient coaching approach, you'll learn to recognise the subjects, lighting conditions, and compositions that genuinely resonate with you rather than simply copying popular styles.

This process of authentic self-discovery often reveals artistic directions you never considered, leading to work that feels genuinely personal and meaningful.

Building Confidence in the Field

Many photographers struggle with decision-making in the moment—which settings to use, where to position themselves, when to press the shutter.

Brad's field-based teaching develops your intuitive understanding of light, weather, and landscapes, transforming uncertainty into confident, creative choices.

You'll learn to understand locations intuitively, anticipate photographic opportunities, and adapt to changing conditions with conviction, assurance, and assertiveness.

Creating Deeper Connection

Perhaps most importantly, this tuition helps forge a profound connection between you, your camera, the natural world, and, in turn, your deeper self.

Brad's approach encourages mindful observation and emotional engagement with landscapes, moving beyond mere documentation of a time or place toward genuine artistic self-expression.

Students often discover that photography becomes a form of meditation, a way of processing experiences and releasing trapped emotions, and a tool for finding deeper meaning and purpose in everyday moments.

Long-term Creative Development

Unlike standard workshop experiences that provide temporary inspiration, Brad's comprehensive, non-traditional approach to creativity builds lasting skills and transforms perspectives, opening permanent neural pathways for deeper thoughts around photography.

The combination of technical knowledge, personal and artistic development, and ongoing support creates a foundation for continued growth long after your formal tuition ends.

Many students find their entire relationship with creativity and Nature fundamentally transformed—one international client even stated that she was having an awakening following her time in Snowdonia with Brad.
