Soulful, Authentic Portrait & Personal Brand Photography Throughout Wales and the UK

Priced packages start at £295

Are you a healer, yoga instructor, personal trainer, artist, or holistic practitioner whose work transforms lives—yet your current photography fails to convey the depth of what you offer?

You’re not alone.

The Problem with Generic Brand Photography

In today’s saturated digital landscape, most brands, business owners, and creators face the same challenge: their photography looks like everyone else’s.

They struggle to increase their visibility across their websites and social media.

Stock photos of meditation poses. Staged headshots with forced smiles. The same unoriginal colour tones. Generic imagery that could represent anyone, anywhere.

Here’s what’s happening:

Your ideal clients scroll past hundreds of images daily. They’re searching for someone who truly understands their journey—someone whose presence, values, and approach resonate deeply with their own. They’re looking for someone they deeply connect with.

But when your photography looks indistinguishable from countless others, you become invisible. No matter how transformative your work, no matter how authentic your practice, potential clients simply can’t feel the connection.

They scroll past. And you lose the opportunity to serve the very people whose lives you’re meant to touch.

The Hidden Cost of Inauthentic Imagery:

The numbers reveal the truth

In a world where visual content dominates every platform, authenticity has become the deciding factor in business success:

81%

of consumers need to trust a brand before they’ll make a purchase

86%

say authenticity is key when deciding what brands they support

57%

of people believe less than half of brands create genuinely authentic content

19%

of consumers find stock photography authentic

In this overwhelming visual noise, authenticity isn’t just valuable; it’s essential for survival.

Yet most business owners approach brand photography backwards. They focus on what they think they should look like rather than revealing who they truly are.

The result?

Disconnection.

Photographs that fail to attract aligned and willing-to-pay clients.

Images that don’t tell the entire story of you and your business.

That’s Where I’m Different

I Don’t take Pictures. I Make Art and Tell Stories.

About Me

I’m Brad Carr, an internationally published fine art landscape photographer, writer, and storyteller from Wales.

My photographs of Wales’ ancient woodlands, serene mountain lakes, and timeless landscapes have been featured in leading photography publications, including On Landscape, Outdoor Photography, and Nature Vision. My debut exhibition, Finding Light, was viewed by an estimated 20,000 people at Plas Glyn y Weddw, one of Wales’ oldest and most prestigious galleries, in 2025.

My creative work touches people at the deepest level. It awakens emotions and connects with the souls of people in all four corners of the world.

I have spent the past 8 years telling my story—and the story of Nature—through the lens of the camera. I’m here now to help you tell yours.

What Storytelling Photography Actually Means

Storytelling photography isn’t just about poses or perfect lighting.

It’s about capturing the essence of who you are and what you stand for; creating visual narratives that communicate your values, brand presence, and your unique way of being in the world.

When a potential client views authentic storytelling photography, they shouldn’t just see what you do. They should feel what it’s like to work with you or own your product.

The Three Elements of Authentic Visual Storytelling

  • Your surroundings are integral to your story. Whether that’s the treatment room where you facilitate healing, the woodland path where you teach forest bathing, or the studio where you create art, place strengthens purpose.

For business owners, your environment communicates your values without words. Spiritual business owners, for example, natural settings will speak to your connection with the earth. Thoughtfully designed spaces reflect your attention to detail and care.

  • The most powerful brand photography emerges not from forcing expressions or manufacturing moments, but from allowing your authentic self to be witnessed.

This requires patience, time, and a safe space for your true essence to emerge; the same presence you bring to your healing work, your teaching, or your creative practice.

When someone views imagery created from this place, they recognise something genuine. Something that can’t be faked or replicated.

  • Every visual choice: light quality, colour palette, composition, atmosphere, communicates something specific about who you serve and how you serve them.

Soft, contemplative imagery attracts clients seeking gentleness and introspection. Bold, dynamic photographs resonate with those ready for transformation and action. Earthy, grounded visuals speak to people valuing connection with Nature and ancestral wisdom.

Authentic storytelling photography ensures your ideal clients recognise themselves in your images before you’ve even spoken.

A Delighted Business Owner in Mid Wales

‘‘I had a photoshoot with Brad for my business website. Brad was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process. The photoshoot day was great; really creative, and I felt very comfortable. The photos that I got after the shoot were of amazing quality. I cannot recommend Brad enough. His creativity and talent with a camera are amazing.’’

How Storytelling Photography Transforms Your Business

When your visual presence authentically represents your work, everything shifts.

  • Potential clients scrolling through your website or social media aren’t just looking at pretty pictures. They’re asking themselves: ‘‘Can this person help me? Do they understand what I’m experiencing? Will I feel safe in their presence?’’

Authentic, soulful storytelling photography answers these unspoken questions, building trust and confidence before you’ve even exchanged a single word with your client.

The data confirms what conscious business owners already know:

    • 75% of online consumers rely on photographs when making purchasing decisions

    • 60% are more likely to contact a business when images appear in search results

    • 67% of consumers consider image quality ‘‘very important’’ in their decision-making

Your photography is the first conversation you have with potential clients. What do you want it to say to them?

  • There’s a direct relationship between how you’re perceived and what clients willingly invest in your services.

When your imagery conveys the depth, care, and transformation you provide, clients naturally understand why your rates reflect your value. You’re no longer having to defend your pricing. Your photography does that work for you.

    Consider the business impact:

    • Authentic brand photography results in 35% more responses compared to stock images

    • Professional images can increase conversion rates by up to 60%

    • Businesses with engaging visual content experience up to 22% higher sales

    • 96% of small business owners use visual content as their primary marketing tool

For heart-led business owners, craftsmen/ women, artists, and creators, this is about honest representation that attracts aligned clients and customers willing to invest in genuine products and transformation.

  • Consistency in your visual storytelling creates immediate recognition. When people encounter your imagery across different platforms, they should instantly recognise your essence, your unique approach, and your energy.

This coherence builds familiarity and trust, making the decision to work with you feel natural and inevitable rather than risky or uncertain.

    The platform-specific data is revealing:

    • Photo posts on Facebook receive 20% more engagement than videos and 352% more than links

    • Instagram maintains an average engagement rate of 4.2% for brands—significantly higher than other platforms

    • Authentic accounts on Instagram see 30% higher engagement than those using generic content

    • 90% of Instagram users follow at least one business, creating direct pathways to potential clients

For spiritual business owners and artists, these platforms become galleries where your authentic work naturally attracts the right people.

  • Many spiritual business owners struggle with marketing because it feels inauthentic or exhausting. But when your photography genuinely represents who you are, sharing your work becomes an act of service rather than self-promotion.

You’re not trying to convince anyone. You’re simply allowing the right people to find you through honest representation of your authentic presence and approach.

My Unique Approach:

Fine Art Landscapes Meet Portrait Photography

I don’t photograph people the way most conventional portrait photographers do.

My background as an internationally published, nationally-exhibited landscape photographer shapes how I see and create portraits. I craft environmental portraits—essentially creating a landscape photograph and placing you within it as an integral part of the scene.

Presence and Patience

In my landscape photography, I’ve learned that the most powerful photographs emerge when I stop trying to control the scene and instead attune to what wants to reveal itself.

I bring this same contemplative approach to portrait sessions. Rather than directing you through a series of poses, I create space for your authentic presence to emerge—the same way I witness the landscape revealing its beauty over time.

This requires patience: the willingness to wait; to observe; to recognise the precise moment when your authentic self reveals itself to my lens.

Artistry in Service of Authenticity

Technical excellence matters—the quality of light, composition, colour harmony. But these elements serve a deeper purpose: revealing the truth of who you are and what you offer to the world.

My artistic eye, honed through years of creating atmospheric, mystical landscape photographs, ensures your imagery stands out aesthetically whilst remaining grounded in authentic representation.

The Process: Creating Your Visual Story

  • A woman with red hair, wearing a patterned shawl and jewelry, leans against moss-covered rocks in a forest near a stream, with her eyes closed and one hand resting on her head.

Stage 1: Deep Listening & Alignment

Before touching a camera, we’ll have a conversation to explore your purpose, your values, and the specifics of the work you facilitate or undertake.

    This includes:

    - Understanding who you serve and what draws them to your particular approach

    - Identifying the essential qualities that make your work unique

    - Discussing environments that authentically represent your practice

    - Exploring visual references that resonate with your aesthetic sensitivity

This foundation ensures the photography we create together genuinely reflects your essence rather than following generic formulas.

  • A woman in a red jacket and floral skirt sitting on a wooden fence by a tree, looking out at a sunlit meadow and trees in the distance.

Stage 2: Location & Light Planning

Whether we’re photographing in your healing space, outdoors in Nature, or in a creative studio, environment matters profoundly.

I assess locations for light quality, atmospheric potential, and symbolic resonance with your work. If you’re a forest therapy guide, we might photograph amongst ancient trees at dawn. A pottery artist might be captured in their workshop with late afternoon light illuminating their hands at work.

This stage includes weather monitoring for outdoor sessions, timing selection for optimal natural light, and coordinating practical logistics.

  • A woman with wet hair floating in dark water with a reflective surface, seen during sunset or sunrise.

    Stage 3: The Photography Session

Sessions typically span several hours, allowing time for authentic presence and beauty to emerge. My approach combines a landscape photographer’s patience with portrait work's intimacy.

I create conditions and a safe space for revelation rather than manufacturing moments. Sometimes this means extended periods of simply being in the environment together. Other times, it involves you engaging naturally with your practice: teaching a movement sequence, creating art, or working with a client.

The camera is there to witness you as yourself in your authentic energy. It doesn’t direct.

  • Black and white image of a boxer in fighting stance, wearing boxing gloves and no shirt, with intense expression.

    Stage 4: Curation & Refinement

After our session, I carefully edit your images to enhance their atmospheric quality whilst preserving authentic representation.

This includes colour grading that supports your brand aesthetic; it’s careful retouching that maintains natural authenticity, and thoughtful image selection that tells your complete story.

You will receive a curated gallery of high-resolution digital files suitable for website, social media, print materials, and any other applications your business requires to reach its ideal client.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Standard portrait photography focuses on capturing flattering images of a person, often in studio settings with conventional poses and lighting. This approach creates environmental storytelling—placing you within landscapes or spaces that communicate your values and work, using techniques developed through years of landscape photography to create atmospheric, meaningful imagery rather than simple portraits.

  • Many business owners, spiritual practitioners and artists feel uncomfortable with traditional photography sessions because they’re asked to ‘‘perform’’ or adopt poses that don't feel natural. This process is different; it's about witnessing your authentic presence rather than directing you. Most clients find it surprisingly comfortable because there’s no pressure to be anything other than yourself.

  • Sessions can take place in any environment that authentically represents your work. This might include your treatment room, yoga studio, workshop, or creative space; outdoor locations in Nature (woodlands, mountains, coastlines, gardens); or a combination of indoor and outdoor settings. Location is discussed during consultation to ensure it genuinely reflects your practice and attracts the right clients for you.

  • Unlike rushed one-hour portrait sessions, authentic storytelling photography requires time for genuine presence to emerge. Sessions typically last 2-4 hours, depending on the package, allowing for natural moments to unfold, multiple locations if needed, and varying light conditions.

  • You receive a professionally curated gallery of high-resolution digital files, edited and colour-graded to enhance atmospheric quality whilst maintaining authentic representation. The exact number depends on your package, but typically ranges from 20-60 final images suitable for all business applications: website, social media, print materials, and digital/ online presentations.

  • Yes. You receive full usage rights for all business and promotional purposes, including website, social media, print marketing, email campaigns, advertising, and any other applications your business requires. The only restriction is resale of the images themselves as stock photography.

  • Based in Mid Wales, I serve clients throughout Wales and the UK. Local sessions (within reasonable distance) include travel. For sessions further afield, we discuss travel arrangements and any associated costs during consultation. Remote locations are welcomed when they’re essential to your story.

  • Weather monitoring is included in the planning process. For outdoor sessions, we select dates with optimal forecast windows, but maintain flexibility for rescheduling if conditions don’t serve the imagery we're creating. Sometimes unexpected weather (mist, dramatic clouds, soft rain) actually enhances the atmospheric quality.

  • Delivery timeline is discussed during planning based on your specific needs. Typically, you’ll receive your curated gallery within 2-3 weeks after our session. This allows time for careful editing, colour grading, and selection of images that tell your complete story.

  • That’s precisely why consultation is the first stage. Many business owners and artists haven’t worked with professional storytelling photography before and aren’t sure what’s possible or necessary. The conversation helps clarify your vision, identify what will serve your business most effectively, and create a plan that feels aligned with your values and goals.

  • Trust your intuition. If the philosophy and approach described on this page resonates with your values; if you sense alignment between how you work and how I create; if you’re drawn to the atmospheric, contemplative quality of the imagery—that’s your answer. The consultation conversation will confirm whether that resonance translates into a productive creative partnership.
